2019 PGA Championship | Golf Betting Tips and Predictions
The PGA Championship is one of four golf majors during the calendar year and is set to be a fantastic tournament.
This will be the first edition on the PGA Championship since changes were made to the golfing calendar. Having previously been the fourth and final major tournament of the year, the PGA Championship is now the second major of the year following The Masters.
The tournament will be played at Bethpage Black and it will be the first time this golf course has staged the event. However, it has experience of playing host to the best golfers in the world having been the site of the 2002 and 2009 US Open events.
The PGA Championship defending champion is Brooks Koepka. He won his third major title at the Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country last year, finishing ahead of Tiger Woods by two strokes and setting a PGA Championship record in the process.
The American has had an inconsistent season but finished T2 in the first major of the year and 4th at the Byron Nelson Classic last week. Koepka has won two and finished second in three of his last four major tournaments. Therefore, it is little surprise to see him as joint favourite, priced at +1000 with Betway to win the 2019 PGA Championship.
Joining Kopeka at +1000 with Betway are Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods. Johnson is ranked as the best golfer in the world and joined Kopeka in finishing T2 at The Masters earlier this year. He has played only one tournament since but Johnson is likely to be challenging come the final day of the 2019 PGA Championship.
The man who finished above Johnson and Koepka at Augusta was Woods. He finished second in the PGA Championship last year and is coming off the back of a long break following his Masters triumph. It remains to be seen if that is a help or hindrance but after what we saw at Augusta, you cannot write him off.
John Rahm is still waiting to win his for major golf title but it sure to come at some point in his career so why not now? The Spaniard has finished inside the top 12 in his last three events on American soil, including a win at the Zurich Classic and inside the top 10 nine times in 2019, showing a high and consistent level of play.
He finished T4 at the PGA Championship last year and has the form to win it in 2019. You can back Rahm to win the 2019 PGA Championship at +2000 with Betway.
If you are looking to back an outsider you could do a lot worse than Patrick Cantlay. The 27-year-old has three top 10 finishes this year on the PGA Tour, including two of his last three tournaments and finished T9 at The Masters.
The result at The Masters this year was the first time he has finished inside the top ten of a major but the American can build on that at Bethpage Black. Cantlay is available at +4000 with Betway to win the 2019 PGA Championship.
